Complete starting midway through "Castle on a Cloud", at which point the filming becomes substantially better. |

(Mme Thenadiere), Kojiro Oka (Enjolras) Notes: Block of performances devoted to 10th anniversary of the Japanese production, first block for Yamaguchi. Valjean-, Javert- and Enjolras-oriented highlights, ~2 h. including 20 minutes of special curtain calls. Absolutely great video, just minor generation loss and great filming. I was told that this bootleg was filmed by Yamaguchi's fan but judging by how much attention the master paid to Kojiro Oka, I have some doubts about that. Permanent time stamp which randomly disappears for a few seconds sometimes. Also includes some footage of Yamaguchi being welcomed by fans on his way to the theatre in the beginning. |

Cast: Yuichiro Yamaguchi (Valjean), Kunio Murai (Javert), Hiromi Iwasaki (Fantine), Kazutaka Ishii (Marius), Bibari Maeda? (Mme Thénadier), Kojiro Oka (Enjolras) Notes: Quite bad picture quality due to generation loss which also affected the sound seriously. Filming is really great though. |

This was sent to another trader labeled as Charles Fornara as Valjean and Reinhard Brussmann as Javert, but someone who was a huge fan of the Duisburg production and saw it many times confirmed it was Reinhard as Valjean and Kasper Holmboe as Javert! |
Marius Company (3NT) | Washington, D.C. | May 29, 1999 | VOBs + smalls

Therefore, the Thenardiers spend "One Day More" kneeling on the ground, and Valjean awkwardly tries and fails to open the door during the aftermath scene. |

Cast: Yuichiro Yamaguchi (Valjean), Mayo Kawasaki (Javert), Honoka Suzuki (Fantine), Minako Honda (Eponine), Yu Hayami (Cosette), Katsumi Toi (Marius), Takuya Kon (Enjolras) Notes: Almost 2 hours of fine filmed highlights with clear quality. For some reason the video turns to 16:9 from the wedding which leads me to presumption that it comes from different performance, though it seems to be filmed from the same seat. |

Gdyia, Poland | 2001 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Krzysztof Stasierowicz (Jean Valjean), Andrzej ŒledŸ (Javert) Notes: Multi-camera proshot of the long-running Polish production. There is no indicator of what year, or the cast other than the names already listed here. The video ends with speeches and flowers at curtain call so it could be either the closing night celebration or an opening night celebration, it's more likely the closing night which places this video somewhere in the vicinity of 2001. Scaled-down compared to the original staging but still heavily inspired by it. |

Most of "Fantine's Death" through "One Day More" (with the exception of "Stars" and some shorter snippets) from January 10, featuring Matthew Teague Miller (Marius u/s) and Nancy L. Foster (Cosette u/s). Eponine/Cosette-centric highlights from January 12, featuring Marnie Nicolella (Eponine u/s) and Rena Strober (Cosette u/s). "Upon These Stones" and "On My Own" only from January 13. The January 10 video has a strong greenish tint until towards the end of "Red and Black", after which point the colors are normal. Shaky camera, but taper clearly knows the show well, as the camera often is aimed in anticipation of actions. |

Cast: Marcos Tumura (Jean Valjean), Saulo Vasconcelos (Javert), Alessandra Maestrini (Fantine), Frederico Silveira (Marius), Sara Sarres (Cosette), Ester Elias (Éponine), Leonardo Luiz (Enjolras) Notes: Seems like it was the final performance, or a special perfomance due to the clapping and confetti. Missing a small part of the musical, but nothing huge. It looks like it was filmed almost directly above the stage. |

Cast: John Cudia (u/s Valjean), Joseph Mahowald (Javert), Jacquelyn Piro (Fantine), Peter Lockyer (Marius), Diana Kaarina (Eponine), Sandra Turley (Cosette), Nick Wyman (Thenardier), Betsy Joslyn (Madame Thenardier) Notes: Act I starts part way through the Overture; Act II starts with announcements before curtain runs through to the end. Lots of rustling noises and drifting away from the action, also does not seem sure where the action will happen in many scenes so a bit late to the punch. Still it's definitely watch-able. Has been mislabeled as being from 2005, which definitely isn't true since the show wasn't running on Broadway by that point. |

Some minor obstructions about 1/2 of “A Little Fall of Rain” is obstruction and some of “Drink with Me” as well. Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary. Great cast with great energy. |

Mostly mid-zooms and close-ups, which causes the camera to miss some of the action. A little dark at times and the camera also tend to wander. Good color and sound with minimal buzzing on loud notes. |

Marius Company (3NT) | Cincinnati | April 30, 2006 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Randal Keith (Valjean), Robert Hunt (Javert), Joan Almedilla (Fantine), Daniel Bogart (Marius), Melissa Lyons (Eponine), Leslie Henstock (Cosette), Norman Large (Thenardier), Jennifer Butt (Mme Thenardier), Victor Wallace (Enjolras), Mike Clemens (u/s Grantaire) Master's notes: Closing night in Cincinnati. Shot from about ten rows back from the stage, orchestra left. Act One is audio only until Valjean shows up at the factory before Fantine is fired, with cover-ups during part of Lovely Ladies and about half of Master of the House. Act Two is audio only until a verse into On My Own with no other cover-ups, ends right at the last note of the show. Obstruction at times since a tall man sat in front of me but I did my best to film around him - missing most of the action during A Little Fall of Rain because of this, but otherwise not too big a problem. Lots of close-ups although I had a bit of trouble following the show at some times (only my second time seeing it). Unashamedly focused upon Robert Hunt when he's on stage, that man is incredible. Randal was great and even Joan was having a good night. Very enthusiastic audience with lots of applause. |

The only video of Phil Cavill and the full 2005/2006 cast. Missing just the first minute of act two, otherwise complete. Well shot video. Minor obstruction from black bar in lower part of the picture that the master dealt with by leaning in when needed. Audio fed from external source. Originally shot in (16:9) standard definition, converted to MP4 in 2022 from original digital tape transfer from 2006. Great audio/video quality. Balanced mix of mediums and close ups, with some ensemble wandering here and there. (Note: some digital artifacts have been recorded onto original tape in the student scenes in act one. Not distracting but I should mention it.) NOT FOR RE-SALE EVER |

Cast: Nehal Joshi (Jean Valjean), Edward Watts (Javert), Allison Blackwell (Fantine), Justin Keyes (Marius), Elizabeth Judd (Eponine), Dorcas Leung (Cosette), John Campione (Enjolras), Steven Michael Walters (Thénardier), Christia Mantzke (Madame Thénardier) Notes: A great capture of Dallas Theatre Center’s inventively staged production of Les Miserables. The much-talked about production did not disappoint; the modernized visuals create many new layers to the show, and make you think about events and characters in a whole new way. Nehal, Allison, Justin, and Christia were probably my favorites, but the entire cast is so talented, it’s difficult to choose any as standouts. A very nice capture overall. There are a couple quick dropouts in act one, but no major blackouts. There is one head that can be seen occasionally, but it only blocks a small portion of the stage and only affects the action for about 20-30 seconds of the entire show. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent as usual. Includes curtain call and playbill scans. |

Cast: Aidan Banyard (u/s Jean Valjean), Nic Greenshields (Javert), Rachelle Ann Go (Fantine), Ian Hughes (Thenardier), Emily Olive Boyd (u/s Madame Thenardier), Nathania Ong (Éponine), Paige Blankson (Cosette), Harry Chandler (u/s Enjolras), Will Callan (Marius), Damian Kneale (s/w The Bishop/Claquesous), Steven Hall (Grantaire) Notes: Shot from the front of the stalls with no obstructions. Act 1 is great other than the far front side of the stage is cut off due to the size of the stage. Act 2 unfortunately is a bit out of focus, however due to the proximity to the stage it is still definitely watchable. NFT Forever. |

Brief cover ups for applause and one very brief one for latecomers in act 2. Follows the action well with plenty of zooms. This video is NFT Forever and sales only through master. |

Cast: Randy Jeter (u/s Jean Valjean), Preston Truman Boyd (Javert), Haley Dortch (Fantine), Matt Crowle (Thénardier), Christina Rose Hall (Madame Thénardier), Devin Archer (Enjolras), Christine Heesun Hwang (Éponine), Gregory Lee Rodriguez (Marius), Addie Morales (Cosette), Cora Jane Messer (Little Cosette), Hazel Vogel (Young Éponine), Harrison Fox (Gavroche), Kyle Adams (Grantaire), Benjamin H. Moore (u/s Bishop), Tim Quartier (s/w Champmathieu), Christopher Robin Sapp (u/s Fauchelevent) Notes: Great 4K capture. The beginning of both acts are rough and have a short blackout (approximately four minutes total of the show are missed). Both acts have minor head obstruction, with Act Two being worse, that may block off action when characters are kneeling / laying down. Wandering and unfocusing throughout, especially in the darker scenes. Includes curtain call, audio fed from external source. |

Cast: Josh Piterman (Jean Valjean), Stewart Clarke (Javert), Lucie Jones (Fantine), Robert Tripolino (Marius), Nathania Ong (Éponine), Lulu-Mae Pears (Cosette), Bart Lambert (u/s Thénardier), Claire Machin (Madame Thénardier), Harry Chandler (Enjolras), Ethan Sokontwe (Gavroche), Daisy Bryant (Little Cosette), Ivy Rose Mann (Young Éponine), Matthew Dale (u/s Grantaire), Donald Craig (The Bishop/Claquesous), Brad Barnley (Factory Foreman/Brujon), Cameron Burt (Feuilly), Sam Peggs (Pimp/Babet), Harry Jack (Montparnasse), Christopher Jacobsen (Combeferre), Ellie Ann Lowe (Factory Girl), Georgie Lovatt (Old Woman), Brad Barnley (Warnings), Jodie Nolan (Madame), Bryony Duncan (Wig Maker), Natalie Chua, Jo Stephenson, Phoebe Williams, Ollie Wray (s/w), Will Jennings (s/w) Notes: Good 4K capture of this cast! The filming is quite rough at points, usually too wideshot or poorly framed. Some head obstruction on both sides, though primarily on the left, that blocks some action but is typically worked around well. Increased wandering / readjustment and unfocusing throughout. About ten minutes from the end of Act One, there was a show stop, and the rest of the act afterwards has more obstruction due to latecomers. Includes curtain call, audio is fed from external source. |

No zoom and no following actors. Obstruction from heads and filmed vertically, thus left, right and bottom of stage obscured/not in frame. Set to horizontal frame. Some scenes are not in frame. Some overexposed shots. Very blurry footage from “Dogs eat Dogs” until the middle of “Turning.” Not For Sale |
