Pre-Broadway Tour | Chicago | June 1, 2001 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Louise Pitre (Donna Sheridan), Tina Maddigan (Sophie Sheridan), Dean Nolan (Harry Bright), Ken Marks (Bill Austin), Joe Machota (Sky), Karen Mason (Tanya), Judy Kaye (Rosie) Notes: This show features the Original Broadway Cast at the third tryout theatre (Cadillac Winter Palace, Chicago). The recording actually shows some of what the show was originally like. Examples of this are, Donna stands on the other side when singing 'Mamma Mia', the revolving set looks different, and the costumes look VERY 90's. There is no neon floor in this video. Ends after 'I Have a Dream' |
1NT | Philadelphia | March 3, 2002 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Dee Hoty (Donna Sheridan), Jennifer Toulmin (u/s Sophie Sheridan), Gary Lynch (Sam Carmichael), Mark Zimmerman (Harry Bright), Ryan Silverman (Sky), Mary Ellen Mahoney (Tanya), Gabrielle Jones (Rosie) Notes: Act One starts with "Money, Money, Money" and Act Two starts with "S.O.S." and includes curtain call. Some of the left side of the stage is blocked some kind of wall throughout the video. Reverts often to full stage shots in Act One. A lot of zooms, particularly in Act Two. |
2NT | Ft. Lauderdale, FL | April 10, 2002 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Monique Lund (Donna Sheridan), Kristie Marsden (Sophie Sheridan), Don Noble (Sam Carmichael), James Kall (Harry Bright), Pearce Buntin (Bill Austin), Chris Bolan (Sky), Ellen Harvey (Tanya), Robin Baxter (Rosie), Bethany Plaglio (Ali), Elana Erst (Lisa) Notes: Great cast! It's interesting to see how the show's come along over the years. Recorded on a VHS. This show either had a low budget, or the theatre didn't have well equipped facilities, because there are many differences to the permanent shows, but I guess that's expected on a tour. The encore is... interesting. The set stays in the centre stage and the lighting's very simple. There's no neon floor in this show. |
London | September 14, 2002 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Louise Plowright (Donna Sheridan), Laura Michelle Kelly (Sophie Sheridan), Simon Slater (Sam Carmichael), Peter Forbes (Harry Bright), Rohan Tickell (Bill Austin), Susannah Fellows (Tanya), Selina Chilton (Ali), Shona White (Lisa) Notes: Good record to have of the show. Filmed on a VHS tape and age is apparent, but still quite watchable. Every 20 minutes or so, the sound cuts out for around 5 seconds. Does not include curtain call or megamix. Good use of zooms, however due to film age, faces aren’t overly clear. Neon floor is used in this performance. Only known video recording of the show in London from its first few years. |
1NT | Philadelphia | June 3, 2003 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Lisa Richard (u/s Donna Sheridan), Chilina Kennedy (Sophie Sheridan), Gary Lynch (Sam Carmichael), Michael DeVries (Harry Bright), Craig Bennett (Bill Austin), PJ Griffith (Sky), Cynthia Sophiea (Tanya), Rosalyn Rahn Kerins (Rosie), Philip Nero (Pepper), Joe Papparella (Eddie), Emmy Baysic (Ali), Karen Burthwright (Lisa) Notes: Very Rare! Missing the overture. This is a great shot of the US Tour that is really steady, especially in Act 2 (tripod?) and good to watch. The stage is lot less cramped then it is in other US Tour videos, which is great visually. No neon floor, obviously and unfortunately there is a hard cut during the bows cutting straight to Dancing Queen and Waterloo is also cut out. |
Hamburg | November 30, 2004 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Annika Bruhns (Donna Sheridan), Valerie Link (Sophie Sheridan), Frank Logemann (Sam Carmichael), Detlef Leistenschneider (Harry Bright), Ulrich Allroggen (Bill Austin), Jörg Neubauer (Sky), Jutta Habicht (Tanya), Barbara Raunegger (Rosie) Notes: The quality's very reasonable for its age, and like all the German casts - they're very fun to watch. It's shot from the back of the auditorium, but there are only a few heads at the bottom of the screen every now and then, so that's lucky. There’s also some washout that’s sometimes distracting, but it’s not too bad. The neon floor is used and the set’s automated, but strangely enough the middle section of the walkway isn’t so there’s a strange dip during I Have a Dream (Reprise) that’s quite funny. Full show, but unfortunately the curtain call and megamix isn't included. |
Stuttgart | December 29, 2004 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Silke Braas (u/s Sophie Sheridan), Jasna Ivir, Armin Kahl, Iris Schumacher, Till Nau Notes: House cam. It's a very nice stage shot. Little spotlight washout and a very high quality soundboard recording, especially when you compare it to other German stageshots of the show. However, picture quality, is pixelated, like it's been scaled up from an online video. Neon floor is included. |
Hamburg | 2005 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Carolin Fortenbacher (Donna Sheridan), Valerie Link (Sophie Sheridan), Frank Logemann (Sam Carmichael), Ulrich Allroggen (Bill Austin), Betty Vermeulen (Tanya), Iris Schumacher (Rosie) Notes: Single cam proshot with no zooms. Filmed at a slight angle, so it's not entirely horizontal, but it's still a steady capture of the full show, megamix songs, and even a little post-show maintenance. |
Madrid | February 24, 2005 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Nina (Donna Sheridan), Mariona Castillo (Sophie Sheridan), Alberto Vasquez (Sam Carmichael), Nando Gonzalez (Harry Bright), Bruno Squarcia (Bill Austin), Leandro Rivera (Sky), Marta Valverde (Tanya), Paula Sebastian (Rosie), David Ávila (Pepper), Jaime Zartarain (Eddie), Mónica Vives (Ali), Mamen Márquez (Lisa) Notes: Multi-camera proshot filmed for CDT. The orchestrations are soundboard, though the dialogue is not. Voulez Vous lighting is out-of-sync, though the dance moves are still in-time—unfortunately, the last 20 minutes of the show are out-of-sync completely. The balcony overhang obstructs the top half of the stage in wideshots. |

Cast: Lauren Mufson (Donna Sheridan), Carey Anderson (Sophie Sheridan), John Dossett (Sam Carmichael), David Beach (Harry Bright), Mark L Montgomery (Bill Austin), Andy Kelso (Sky), Judy McLane (Tanya), Olga Merediz (Rosie), Ben Gettinger (Pepper), Olivia Oguma (Ali), Samantha Eggers (Lisa) |
Antwerp | March 25, 2006 | VOBs w/o smalls
Cast: Vera Mann (Donna Sheridan), Sasha Rosen (Sophie Sheridan), Jan Schepens (Sam Carmichael), Mark Tijsmans (Harry Bright), Marc Coessens (Bill Austin), Davy Gilles (Sky), Myriam Bronzwaar (Tanya), Lulu Aertgeerts (Rosie), Hannah van Meurs (Ali), Lokke Dieltiens (Lisa) Notes: A very poorly filmed video of the first act, however the video's quality is very good. Probably not the best video you can get hands of, but certainly gives you a good idea of the Belgian version of the show. Note that there's no neon floor in this video, however it shouldn't be much of a problem as you can hardly see the floor the majority of the time. |
Las Vegas | August 26, 2006 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Carol Linnea Johnson (Donna Sheridan), Kelly Anise Daniells (Sophie Sheridan), Rick Negron (Sam Carmichael), Andy Taylor (Harry Bright), Jefferson Slinkard (Bill Austin), Patrick Sarb (Sky), Vicki Tassel (Tanya), Lisa Richard (u/s Rosie) Notes: Beautiful DVD, crystal clear picture and solid performances. |
Moscow | 2007 | MP4
Cast: Natalia Bystrova (Sophie Sheridan), Andrey Klyuev (Sam Carmichael), Oleg Taysaev (Harry Bright), Vladimir Khalturin (Bill Austin), Andrey Birin (Sky), Natalia Koretskaya (Tanya), Elena Kazarinova (Rosie), Anna Guchenkova (Ali), Victoria Kanatkina (Lisa) Notes: An amateur stage shot of most of the first act. It starts at the first scene change (just after Honey, Honey/Milly, Milly). It's nice to see the show from another angle than you normally would, though it’s a very low quality video. |
Essen | May 10, 2007 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Lone van Roosendaal (Donna Sheridan), Romina Langenhan (Sophie Sheridan), Gido Schimanski (Sam Carmichael), Frank Winkels (Harry Bright), Jörg Zuch (Bill Austin), Kerstin-Marie Mäkelburg (Tanya), Barbara Tartaglia (Rosie) Notes: Director's tape, no zoom. Soundboard sound. |
Essen | August 2007 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Anna Montanaro (Donna Sheridan), Romina Langenhan (Sophie Sheridan), Gido Schimanski (Sam Carmichael), Frank Winkels (Harry Bright), Jörg Zuch (Bill Austin), Kerstin-Marie Mäkelburg (Tanya), Barbara Tartaglia (Rosie) Notes: A stage shot of the new Essen cast, featuring Anna Montanaro as Donna. The cast give a great performance, however the video quality is almost unwatchable. The colours are incredibly bland, and the footage is grainy with a constant brown hue. Not sure how this happened—the other Essen stageshot must have used the same camera. Also it's worth noting some technical problems—In 'Mich Tregt Mein Traum', the large moon is delayed in it's entrance and as a result the projection comes on, which leads to the scene having two moons. Another thing is that the Overture 'wave' gobo goes out of control after the show and starts projecting sideways and someone steps up onto the stage after the show. Also, this performance had a green neon floor during Dancing Queen. |
Berlin | Preview | October 12, 2007 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Claudia Stangl (u/s Donna), Betty Vermeulen, Iris Schumacher, Melanie Ortner, Detlef Leistenschneider, Andreas Lichtenberger Notes: A technical run-though a couple days before the Berlin premiere. It runs pretty smoothly for the most part, but there are a couple hiccups. Most notably are that the cast practice Under Attack during the interval and the set gets jammed during the Summer Night City scene change (just after the Winner Takes it All). One of the better quality stage shot videos. There's almost no spotlight washout and the neon floor is included in this video. |
Moscow | May 24, 2008 | VOBs + smalls
Cast: Lika Rulla (alt Donna Sheridan), Natalia Bystrova (Sophie Sheridan), Andrey Klyuev (Sam Carmichael), Oleg Taysaev (Harry Bright), Vladimir Khalturin (Bill Austin), Andrey Birin (Sky), Natalia Koretskaya (Tanya), Elena Kazarinova (Rosie), Anna Guchenkova (Ali), Victoria Kanatkina (Lisa) Notes: Lika Rulla's final show as Donna. Multi-angled proshot. Very high quality soundboard recording. Unfortunately, there is hardly any crowd ambience, which can make it sound odd at times. Includes finale megamix, with Waterloo sung in English. Has a ‘movie musical feel’ to it, including credits and a cool intro. |

Cast: Elena Charkviani (Donna Sheridan), Natalia Bystrova (Sophie Sheridan), Andrey Klyuev (Sam Carmichael), Oleg Taysaev (Harry Bright), Vladimir Khalturin (Bill Austin), Andrey Birin (Sky), Natalia Koretskaya (Tanya), Elena Kazarinova (Rosie), Anna Guchenkova (Ali), Victoria Kanatkina (Lisa) Notes: This was the final performance in Moscow until the tour that went there in 2012. It's a multi-angled proshot, with a soundboard recording, which also includes crowd ambiance. The megamix is included and Andrey Birin (the guy who plays Sky) calls his girlfriend on stage after the reprise of Dancing Queen to propose to her. Easily one of the best recordings of the show I've seen! The quality of this performance is far better than Lika Rulla's last performance. Except this one doesn't include the Entr'acte for some reason. |

This is probably the best proshot of the show you can get, even though there's no neon floor. Sadly, the Overture and Entr'acte aren't included. |
Brazil | June 2010 | MP4
Cast: Kiara Sasso (Donna Sheridan), Pati Amoroso (Sophie Sheridan), Saulo Vasconcelos (Sam Carmichael), Cleto Baccic (Harry Bright), Carlos Arruza (Bill Austin), Thiago Machado (Sky), Rachel Ripani (Tanya), Andrezza Massei (Rosie), Priscila Marques (Ali), Raquel Paulin (Lisa) |
Shanghai | 2011 | AVI
Cast: Tianshui, Shenxiaoceng Notes: HD stage shot of the Shanghai musical spectacular! Very respectable quality and is great fun to watch. The show uses the Novello set, has no neon floor, and the stage is very large. This is the only known stage shot in 16:9 HD and best of all, the only spotlight washout's in Super Trouper. |

Cast: Patricia Hodell (u/s Donna Sheridan), Eva Serrarens (Sophie Sheridan), Jerry Marwig (Sam Carmichael), Matthias Otte (u/s Harry Bright), Jörg Zuch (Bill Austin), Dirk Johnston (Sky), Betty Vermeulen (Tanya), Helena Blöcker (u/s Rosie), Pierre Damen (Pepper), Norbert Bohmann (Eddie), Annakathrin Naderer (Ali), Rebecca Stahlhut (Lisa) Notes: A great capture of the Stuttgart Revival, filmed from the stalls with some obstructions around the edges and due to the seats in front. The cast is wonderful, but the neon floor is noticeably absent compared to the original Stuttgart production. |

Acts it brilliantly, sings it even better and is just adorable and awesome all around. The rest of the cast are also great, The video is filmed from central stalls and features a completely unobstructed view of the stage. |

Cast: Elena Charkviani (Donna Sheridan), Maria Ivaschenko (Sophie Sheridan), Andrey Klyuyev (Sam Carmichael), Igor Portnoy (Harry Bright), Dmitry Yankovsky (Bill Austin), Andrey Birin (Sky), Natalia Koretskaya (Tanya), Elena Mukhutdinova (Rosie), Dmitry Golovin (Pepper), Julia Churakova (Ali), Daria Zueva (Lisa) Notes: This is the only video of the incredibly short St Petersburg season of Mamma Mia. But it's still just incredible to watch. This cast (like all the other Russian casts) are incredible and really create an amazing an entertaining show to watch. It's been recorded in full 1080p HD and features many stage shots, which is great! One guy seems to have a massive head, but the obstruction always only lasts a few seconds before the camera moves. Minimal spotlight washout. Includes the Overture and Entr'acte. It's funny though, the Overture doesn't have a curtain - a different take on what normally happens. |

The entr’acte and the first 30 seconds of Under Attack is missing at the beginning of act two. Other than that, there are a couple quick dropouts, but no major blackouts. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call, the first two encore songs, and playbill scans. |

It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans. |
